Pure Borax Powder for UK Trade, Studio and Lab Use
This is genuine borax: sodium tetraborate decahydrate (Na2B4O7·10H2O) at 99.9% purity. It is not a substitute or a blend. The powder is fine, white and free-flowing, dissolves readily in warm water and gives a stable alkaline solution of around pH 9.2. Choose a 900g bag for the workbench or a 3kg bag for regular trade use.
Typical professional applications
- Soldering and brazing flux: keeps gold, silver, brass and copper clean while heating, so solder flows and joints bond properly.
- Pottery and enamelling: a strong low-temperature flux for glazes, frits and glass work.
- Timber conservation: used by restorers as a borate treatment against rot and wood-boring insects.
- Laboratory work: preparing borate buffer solutions and pH reference standards.
- Taxidermy and specimen preparation: helps dry and preserve skins and botanical material.
- Technical cleaning and water treatment: alkaline cleaner for workshops and conditioner for closed heating and cooling loops.
