Searching for borax near me in the UK usually ends in disappointment: chemists, supermarkets and most hardware stores stopped stocking pure borax when it was reclassified, and the boxes labelled “borax” on the shelf are nearly always borax substitute. The fastest way to get the real thing is to order online, with free UK delivery.

Why Shops Near You Don’t Sell Borax
Borax is classified as toxic for reproduction, so it can no longer be sold over the counter as a household product. It can still be supplied for professional, trade and laboratory use, which is how we sell it. If you need it for laundry or cleaning at home, our borax substitute is the legal alternative. Local Alternatives
- Pottery suppliers sometimes stock borax as a glaze material in small bags.
- Jewellery tool shops sell borax cones and flux, usually at a much higher price per gram.
- Supermarkets stock borax substitute only, not pure borax.
For 99.9% pure borax in useful quantities, ordering online is usually cheaper and quicker.
